This photo was taken at our church retreat near Starke, Florida, Camp
Montgomery, using a 15mm lens and f8 with 100 speed transparency film. It
was converted to digital using a Canon PowerShot A300 in macro mode and a
home-made cardboard square tube about 2.25 inches long. To get good
light, a piece of white paper was laid on the ground with the sun shining on it,
and the tube was held close enough to have only paper (no grass) behind the transparency.
The north star, the center of the celestial universe for us, is in the
center, as the other stars appear to rotate around it.
